I am delighted to have you with us today. This is a great opportunity for me to share our community’s feelings about our partnership with School-to-School International. The elders of the village asked me to report that for the first time, we have a reliable source of drinking water throughout the year. Before, our traditional wells dried up during the dry season. Now, the women of the village of Tassara and their friends from neighbouring localities get their drinking water from the well which STS gracefully gave to our school. I would like to thank you and the ALCOA foundation that supports you financially for this help.

We have benefitted in many ways from our partnership with STS. In addition to helping us with the well, you have taught our children many good things. Now they are the ones who tell us how to wash our hands, why we should brush our hair, what we should do before and after eating and using the washroom, why we must wash the fruit before eating them, etc. Thanks to you, our children also have books that we did not have to buy. These actions really should not be forgotten.

To conclude, I assure you that if we didn’t have this new well, many people served by this well would be sick or even dead from drinking dirty water.

We are sure that the door of paradise is open for you. May God guide your steps! You will be in paradise even before you die. Many thanks and may our partnership continue!
